The first person I interviewed, I will call "Jim." Jim is an eight-year-old boy who is very active, and seems well supported by his parents. The first question I asked Jim was who is best friend was? He answered by saying "Billy." I asked him why that was. He said because he has a bike just like mine and we ride around the park together with our parents. The next question I asked him was what was he good at? He replied sports, math and art. This was surprising to me to me because at this age in the industry versus inferiority stage it says that children direct their energy toward mastering knowledge and intellectual skills. I asked Jim what he wanted to be in life? He said that he wanted to be a police officer. The reason for this was so that he can help people, drive a really fast car and arrest the bad guys. I was surprised to the fact that he used the word arrest. Which would also be a direct correlation with this stage. I threw a little Freud into the questions I asked. I asked him if he had a girlfriend? He said yes that he did. Which was a surprise to me! I asked him how they met and he said she sits next to me in school and we eat lunch together. This would go against what Freud says in the latency stage where children are to repress their feelings toward the opposite sex. Jim was on track when it came to Erik Erikson. The next person that I questioned was an eight-year-old girl named "Tess." Tess is very well supported by her parents. I asked her who her best friend is and she said it was "Kim." I asked her why? She said that Kim lived next door and that they played games and played Crash Bandicoot on her playstation. The next question I asked her was what was she good at? She said writing, art and also dancing. This didn't surprise me at all it because at this age little girls are better at jumping and running than boys are. Tess also fell into line when it came to Erikson's industry versus inferiority stage. I asked Tess what she wanted to be when she grew up? She said she wanted to be a nurse like her mom. I asked why a nurse? Tess said that nurses help people and they make people better when they are sick. The ... This is not the end of the termpaper!
