Daytime Talk Shows

Topic:  Why or why isn't it important to consider daytime talk television.
Daytime television talk shows are an important factor in American Culture.  By all means they should be considered.  Almost any way it is looked at, daytime talk shows have a significant effect on American Culture.  For example, parents should be concerned about the things their children are watching.  Or, speaking in terms of advertising, for certain products, daytime talk shows are the best place to advertise.  Based on these facts, daytime talk shows should definitely be considered.
There are two different types of talk shows.  The first type focuses on taboo and culturally degrading subjects.  Sometimes, topics are used that are just plain elementary.  For example, a Jenny Jones episode I recently viewed was titled: "I was poor and you made fun of me, look at me now!"  It is amazing how they can take the simplest things and turn them into a show that some people actually enjoy; these are the shows that need to be watched out for.  Hosts such as Jenny Jones and Jerry Springer can show some very derogatory material.  By saying derogatory, I mean degrading to American Culture.  They show a part of the culture that is undoubtedly true, but it is material that doesn't need to be publicized or emphasized.  They bring low class citizens on the show that rant, rave, and fight over subjects such as love, sex, lies, incest, money and adultery.    Do we really want our children watching these things?  It is fine for adults to watch for the entertainment value, but children can be heavily influenced by what they see on television these days.  Not only are the topics of these shows morally low, but most of the time the results are of low moral standards also.
The second type of talk shows, usually with hosts such as Opera and Montell, deal with different types of issues.  Opera does shows about world news events sometim...
