The times change. As the years slowly progress, it is inevitable that the values and trends once cherished by generations past will slowly give way to contemporary fashions. Perhaps the most notable means to view the always developing course of our culture is to simply switch on your television and tune it to your favorite show. Two television situation comedies in particular, "The Cosby Show" and "Leave It To Beaver", are stark examples of how the American family has been portrayed and just how much has changed since television was a swaddling infant.

The situation is similar to the rest of the family.  The only thing that audience knows about June is that she will always have a home cooked dinner on the table at six o’clock and kisses her husband goodbye in the mornings and hello in the evenings. The children on the show share a similar lack of depth, being flat when it comes to development and overall social and psychological change. "Leave It To Beaver" was not the story of the ideal American fami...
