After a long and exhausting struggle on the sea, Odysseus finally reached the gorgeous
shores of Cuba. The land was warm and consisted of primarilly flat land (Lindop 3). The
coastline was jagged and odd, different from any other of the shores he had been to
(Vazquez 15). After a strenuous two hour walk he eventuallty reached Havana, the capitol
of Cuba (Vazquez 8). After Odysseus reached Havana, "the playground ot the Western
world, " he was tired, so he searched for a hotel to sleep in (Vazquez 8). Odysseus finally
came upon a ran-down, low-priced hotel; just the type for him because he had a scarce
amount of money. He entered the hotel and the man behind the counter was a Spanish

out. Seconds later an alarm went off. Hearing sirens he ran as fast as cheetah onto a side
street where he hid behind a dumpster. After Odysseus waited there for a hour he realized
he was safe, and he came out from behind the dumpster.
After he left the dumpster Odysseus walked on until he reached the rain forest
(Curtis). The dense, dim forest was full of all kinds of animals and  frightened Odysseus (
Haverstock 11). Tediously he went through the thick forest where came upon grapefruit
and orange trees which he ate (Vazquez 26). Odysseus filled his stomach and walked on
until he approached a swamp. Odysseus felt filthy from all he had traveled, so he took a
take a dive in the swamp to bathe and cool off. After Odysseus felt refreshed he started to
swim out of the murky water when a giant alligator approached him (Morris 11). Being
alert Odysseus grabbed a sharp-edged dagger out of his back pocket with his left hand, but
the vicious alligator already furiously bit on Odysseus' right hand. Quickly, with his left
hand he jabbed the al...
