Midterm

The assignment given on 10-13-98 stated that the midterm would be a take home outline of the class materials covered up to 10-20-98. This included the syllabus, along with the chapters in sequence as covered 1, 4, 3, 6, and 8. The outline follows the same sequence, and has the views of the student included.

I. Objectives/ Competencies
              
A. The four objectives given in the syllabus cover the entire class semester.

1. Of the four given, up to 3 have been covered.
2. The fourth is to be covered in the weeks to come, and the three shall be improved upon by lab application.

B. The objectives stated, and what I have learned from each one.

1. Students will be able to graphically communicate using the techniques of technical drawing via sketching techniques. This led to the basis of correct and neat work, while trying to express oneself using sketching. This revealed the format of the paper used in drafting, and why it is important for drafters to use sketches for communicating their ideas at first, before developing working drawings.

2. Students will be able to use drafting equipment to create technical drawings for communicating size and shape description. This introduced the Vemco drafting machine to the students, and allowed for precise drawings. Now, the student was able to give a sketch precise size, and a definite shape.

3. Students will be able to communicate graphically multiview, axonometric, and oblique projection methods. These three methods are the beginning stages of having a complete set of working drawings. This contains the first two steps, and will be finished with a set of working drawings. Multiview is the main focus in class at this point in time.

4. Students will be able to incorporate all aspects of technical drawing by the development of a complete set of working drawings for an object containing a minimum of three (3) individual interactive parts. This is the final stage of class, where all the steps, and drawings have paid off, and the student will be able to finish a set of working drawings.


C. The drawings below show the objectives/ competencies steps.
