The author wants the readers to know that what they hear from the media and what they are told about feminism may not be correct.  This article lets the reader be aware of the myths of feminism.  It also discusses what feminists are and what they believe in.  It brings up the point that they are largely misunderstood by society.

     This article mentions the six new faces that are women that have come to
power.  The author wants the reader to realize that there are women leaders in other countries, just not in the United States.  She mentions that there were many women that helped the American civil rights movement, not only men.  She also contests that the reasons why there were not many women authorities is not because they are shy but because the job titles were held by men who made the decisions about woman's rights.

The author is simply letting the reader know who they are and what they believe in and what they are against.  The reader learns from the article that there are pro-life feminists groups and this organization is one of them.  The author states that they believe that abortion is a symptom of the problems that women must face.  She says that "Feminists for Life must speak to all issues that bear upon the well-being of women and children."

     This article was written in honor of the Women's Right's Convention.  The
author informs the reader when and where the convention was held.  It mentions that women have come a long way since the convention 150 years ago.  It states that there is an act called the Women's Equality Act that will help the women in the work place.  It would protect women from work place segregation, it would set place standards that employers must follow.
