“The Net Does’nt Need Thought Police” Marc Rothenberg starts his argument by pointing out the possibility that ob- -taining such books or simply attempting to get information on such books as The Naked Society over the internet could be wiped out altogether due the “thought pol- -ice”. This is an example he is using to make the reader aware of the problem at hand, the government’s ability to censor what is put on the internet is growing. Next he adds that it is not just the government alone who is coming up with the idea of censorship over the internet, they have a little help from such as religious groups, and , as he says, their “allies in congress who have decided they know what is good for us and our children”. However, the government does have the ability to create such laws as Exon-Coats Communications Decency Act which is part of the Telecommunications Deregulation and Reform ...
