Job Description: Zoologists study animal life. They study the development, origin, structure, heredity, classification, population, physiology, ecology, disease, and behavior of animals. Most of the time, they study the functiom, process, and structure of a particular animal. The duties of zoologists vary widely. It can vary from assisting in field studies to computer programming to DNA and RNA studies and genetic manipulations to biochemical analysis as well as collection and identification of insects. Some zoologists are involved in basic or applied teaching,writing, research, consultation, or administration. The job of a zoologist depends on the area in which they specialize. College Requirements: A college entrance program during high school is needed. The courses needed are: English, math,computer science, one foriegn language, and every possible biological and physical science. In college, a Bachelors degree is the minimum you need. If you want to work in the research, teaching, or administrative area, you need graduate study leading to a Master's or Doctoral degree. This is also required in some zoos and aquariums.
