This is a story about a hero and his league of courage, who risk their lives to help rescuing France leading leader.  These peoples were being acuse by the French citizen, and sentences to the guilloitine, for the acusation of being a traitor to their country.
     The story started out with a fascinating event that relates to many events that happens lately in French.  The Scarlet Pimpernel and his league of courage rescued the Duc de Chalis and his family.  But a clever move by Scarlet is that he disguise as the captain.  He wittingly also diguise his men as a group of soldier.  They fool the real guards by giving them order to chase after an empty cart.  On the other hand the Scarlet and his crew rescue the Duc de Chalis family.  Another diversity happen in the same day with the Scarlet disguise as an old hag with her son who she(the Scarlet) said that the son has the plague.  But what the gates keeper didn't know was the cart contain the Comtesse de Tournay and her two children.  So all in a day works save a few lives which will be put to death under the guillotine by the over thrown citizens.
     The main character of this book is the Scarlet Pimpernel or known as Sir Percy Blakeney.  He is the man of courage who with his crew has saved many lives.  In his everyday lives he acts as though he was a dull but rich gentleman.  While his business are daringly dangerous.  His rival fiend Chauvelin a French spy.  He use many ways to try to find the identity of the Scarlet Pimpernel.  He even use his old friend Lady Blakeney.  She is Sir Percy wife and he love her very much.  But due to her past.  He has hesitate to tell her his secret.  Chauvelin asked her to help him find out who is the Scarlet Pimpernel and capture him for French.  But she couldn't accept the offer, because she felt that it was wrong.  Chauvelin then tell Lady Blakeney about his arrest last night that he caught two men, Sir Andrew and Sir Antony at "The Fishermen Rest" talking about a new plan.  He search them here he found a piece of paper.  It states that Arman St.  Just is a traitor.  He whom was also Marguerite Blakeney brother.  Now she has to decided between her brother life and a noble hero life.  She unwillingly accept Chauvelin's then without hesitation gives her order to go to Lord Grenville's Ball to find information.  There she found that Sir Andrew recieved a secret note...
