Two of the most influential books of our time have the Bible and the Koran. Both books believe in one God and the same God, the God of Abraham, revealed in the Old Testament. The Moslem's call him "Allah," but this is just their name for Jehovah. Both were begun as the result of the work of individual prophets. The Christian's by Jesus and the Moslems' by Mohammed. But the teachings of the two books are totally different. The Koran tries to dispute all of the Bible's teachings. In this paper will to discuss four different topics of the Bible verses the Koran. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the Son of God. The Koran teaches that Jesus is not the Son of God. The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was no more than Allah's apostle and his work which he cast to Mary: a spirit from him. So believe in Allah and his apostles and do not say: "Three." Forbear, and it shall be better for you (Sura 4:171). Allah is but one God. Allah forbids that he should have a son! His is all that the heavens and the earth contain (Sura4: 172). Allah is the all-sufficient Protector. It is apparent that the Koran is stating that there is no one other than Allah and that Jesus was just an apostle like other apostles through out the Bible. But what does the Bible say about this, it says that the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God and behold you will conceive in your womb and bear a son and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord will give to him the throne of his father David; and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and his kingdom there will be no end. (Luke 1:30-33) " The Koran teaches that Jesus is a sworn enemy and worns its followers not to be misled by Satan(Sura 3:55). But I have a hard time believing that if Jesus was a false prophet, why was he called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace, and Everlasting Father. The Bible and the Koran both teach about the loyalty believers should have towards their religion. Both books speak about different aspects of life, such as marriage, war, honesty, and trust. But what does the Bible and Koran teach about enemies. I think that the bible teaches that the true Christian should love their enemy and pray for those who persecute them (Matthew 5: 43). It also in Matthew it also says that Jesus said: " But I say to you love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you ... This is not the end of the termpaper!
