Dear Sir or Madam,
Over the past four years, I have grown into an exceptional writer.  When I began my high school career, I was a decent writer.  Throughout my first year of high school I learned about mechanics and sentence structure.  This made my technical skills improve greatly.  My sophomore year the quality of my writing skills expanded and I  learned more about how to use  words in a more professional way and many new ways of writing, including  personal narratives, short stories, and poems.  While going into my junior year of  high school, I spent most of the time learning new vocabulary words.  When I advanced into my senior year, I learned how to express using all of the skills I had learned during my high school career.  I  have discovered new ways of saying what I wanted while accomplishing the task simultaneously.  This year was most valuable to my education process.  As you will see the works from my portfolio that I have accumulated in  high school  have transformed  me into an accomplished writer.
In this portfolio I picked a variety of  pieces to show how much my writing has improved.  The first piece of work  in my portfolio is a personal narrative.  The title of my personal narrative is Christmas Wedding.  This story has helped me learn real life experiences while writing about something very special to me.  This story was easy for me to write because many feelings came to me naturally.  Expressing my thoughts about my loved ones is very easy to do while I am writing.  My sisters wedding gave me the ability to have fun with what I was writing.  The wedding in Las Vegas was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and my family.
The second piece of work in my portfolio is a short story.  The title is  What about Amber Lynn?  This piece was given as an assignment in English class.  This story is about a beautiful, talented, and ambitious, young woman who is on top of the world.  There is not a guy who doesn't adore her, or a young woman who doesn't want to be like her.  Her dance group, Sizzle, has a shot at stardom, and Amber's dream of fame and fortune is close enough to touch.  The short story is fiction.  I have always  found this type writing as a form of relaxation.  This paper was rather easy to write for me.  I enjoy writing short stories and  I  would  consider it one of my better pieces of writing.
The third piece of work is titled, Uruguay, this paper was written in my U.S. History class.  I was required to research a cou...
