The Hittites

So who exactly are the Hittites you ask?  A group of people in the ancient Middle East obviously, but who are they?  Who did they worship, and how did they get their food?  The answers to the questions were untold until recently when the Hittites were finally recognized as one of the Great Powers of the Middle East much like the Egyptains or the Assyrians at the time.  This established group of people created a kingdom in what we now know as Turkey and Syria.  This big area of land was then known as Anatolia.  Anatolia had a huge source of timber and agricultural products, and this was one of the many things that attracted people there.  In fact that may be hard to believe because of what the area of Anatolia looks like today.  After all of the years of destruction of the trees by humans and goats, the land is pretty timberless and dry as surprising as it sounds.  The main reason for that though is because the land has been neglected for centuries.  This treeless and dried up area is the remains of what used to be the grounds of which the Hittites built their kingdom.

Horses in the Hattite army were only used to draw the Chariot as shown.  This chariot was very light weight, and it also manuevered very well at high speeds.  It was said to be “Perfected”.  The body of the chariot was wooden with leather covering with a pole pointing out of the middle lower area.  On each side was a horse to pull the chariot.  For weapons, The Hittites used sickle-shaped vicious swords with a cutting edge.  There were also shorter stabbing swords used called daggers.
The everyday structure of the housing of the Hattites seems to be very well organized and plnanned according to the way that it sounds.  The streets were always very straight if the land that they lie on were straight as well.  They were also covered with a coarse gravel on the to...
