1. A. Quotation and speaker:
     Lady Macbeth Act II scene ii ll. 10: " The death and nature do contend about them, Whether they live or die"

B. Paraphrase and clarification:
     Here lady Macbeth is saying that since the grooms are so drunk, because she drugged their possets, that she can't tell whether they are asleep and alive or they are dead. This is said, when Lady Macbeth drugs the grooms drinks, so that they fall asleep so that Macbeth will be able to kill Duncan without any problems.
C. Conclusion:
     This sentence is said when Lady Macbeth has drugged the grooms who are guarding Duncan when he sleeps. This is done so that Macbeth will have an easier time to kill the king. By killing Duncan, Macbeth would be able to become the future king. When this would happen, all three of the witches' prophecies would come true for Macbeth. He was already Thane of Glamis, then was announced Thane of Cawdor, then the King of Scotland.

2. A. Paraphrase and conclusion:
     Macbeth Act II scene ii, ll. -50 "The death of each day's life, sore labor, bath..."

B. Paraphrase and clarification:
     Macbeth thinks that he won't be able to sleep anymore after he has killed Duncan, because he has a guilty conscious of what he has done, and because of this he won't be able to sleep anymore. Sleep completes the day, as death ends life
C. Conclusion:
     Macbeth says, that he won't be able to sleep because of this terrible deed that he has just committed. He has killed Duncan, so that he will be able to become the future king of Scotland. This would make the third prophecy that the witches predicted would happen to Macbeth.

3. A. Quotation and Speaker:
     Lennox Act II, Scene iii, ll. -60 " Lamentings heard I' the air, strange screams of death…"

B. Paraphrase and clarification:
     In this phrase, Lennox is describing the horrible weather that he has witnessed the night before. He explains how nature was totally unbalanced, the chimneys smoke was blown downward, instead of up. There were strange screams of death that night as well, accompanied by the screams and the howls of an ow...
